Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 September 2026 · Stird LTD

Who you’re agreeing with

These terms govern your use of Stird, operated by Stird LTD, a company registered in England & Wales. References to “we” mean Stird LTD; references to “Stird” mean the product and service we operate.

By using Stird — including by joining the waitlist or creating an account — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Stird.

Eligibility

You may use Stird if you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the laws that apply to you. By using Stird, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older.

Accounts

During the invite-only phase, account creation is gated by single-use invite codes. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity carried out under your account.

Your content and your digital twin

  • Ownership. You own the content you create on Stird (your memories, entries, and messages). By posting content, you grant Stird a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process that content solely to operate the service — including to build and run your digital twin and to display your content to the audience you choose.
  • Audience. Each piece of content you create has an audience setting (private, friends, followers, or public) that you control. Content shared with a wider audience can be seen — and may be copied or shared further outside Stird — by anyone in that audience. We cannot control what people do with content once they can see it.
  • Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for what you post and for what you allow your digital twin to say on your behalf, based on the content and settings you choose. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share, or that violates someone else’s rights.
  • Removal. We may remove content that violates these terms or the law, or that we’re required to remove.

AI-generated content and your digital twin

  • Stird’s digital twins are AI systems. A digital twin generates responses using an AI model, based on the content its owner has shared and chosen to make available for that purpose. A twin’s output is AI-generated content, not a verified statement by the person it represents.
  • When you talk to someone else’s twin, you’re talking to an AI, not directly to that person.
  • Twin output may be inaccurate, out of date, or not reflect the represented person’s actual views. Don’t rely on it as advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise), and don’t treat it as something the represented person has personally said or is accountable for.
  • If you own a twin, you control what content is available to it and can change or remove that content at any time, which changes how it responds going forward — earlier conversations are not retroactively altered.
  • We do not pre-screen every message a digital twin sends. If a twin produces content that violates these terms, report it to [email protected].

Paid plans and credits

Stird may offer paid plans in addition to a free plan. Where paid plans are available, they include a monthly allocation of credits, consumed as you use the service. Credits reset at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over.

We may change plan pricing, features, or credit allocations from time to time. We’ll give you reasonable notice before any material change takes effect.

Payments, billing & cancellation

Payments for paid plans are handled by Paddle, acting as the merchant of record for your purchase — they are the seller you contract with for the transaction, and they issue your receipt. We never receive or store your full card details.

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. If you switch plans, any price difference is charged immediately and the new plan takes effect straight away. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and it won’t renew after that.

See our Refund Policy for how refunds are handled.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Stird unlawfully, or to harm, harass, or impersonate others
  • Attempt to bypass security, scrape the service at scale, or otherwise interfere with normal operation
  • Upload illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights
  • Use a digital twin to impersonate a real person without their consent, or present a twin’s output as that person’s verified, first-hand statement
  • Generate or share content that violates the privacy or rights of someone who hasn’t consented to being represented or referenced

Termination

You may stop using Stird and request account deletion at any time from Settings. You have 30 days to change your mind by signing in again; after that, your account is permanently deleted. You can also request deletion by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or where required to do so by law.

Service “as is”

Stird is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any output or content — including content generated by a digital twin — will be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stird LTD is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of Stird, including losses arising from content generated by a digital twin. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be shown by an updated date above. Continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance.
