Our mission
To build the next generation of media infrastructure — enabling people to create, discover, interact with, and participate in experiences in new ways.
What we do
We aim to remove the friction in communication by having people and machines work together.
Many people with something worth saying never get to say it: there is no time to write it out, no clear way to put what they lived into words, or saying it out loud costs more than they want to pay. This is exactly where language models are strong: in expressing, in observing and in making meaning. We use that strength to carry what a person has lived to others, without taking it away from them.
Our name comes from the same idea: Stird is from "stir", to mix. A person and a machine, stirred together. More in the FAQ.
How we do it
Language models today are mostly productivity tools: they produce answers synthesized from many sources, belonging to no one. We reverse the direction the data flows. By carrying what we receive from one person to thousands, we turn the language model from a productivity tool into a form of mass communication.
Observe
The machine observes your memories and builds a five-layer persona from them.
- Core
- Lens
- Voice
- Now
- Affect
Represent
Your twin blends that persona with your memories to produce the message, and speaks on your behalf, in your voice.
Reach
Your stories are discovered by the people who will value them, through experience categories, the map, story cards and your public profile.
The details are on Digital twins.
The limits of what the machine does are set out in Our policies.
We see technology not as the product itself but as the infrastructure that makes this possible, and we are building toward new forms of value exchange.
Who we serve
Today we serve:
- Creators who want new ways to express themselves and connect with audiences.
- Audiences who want to discover and engage with perspectives beyond traditional media formats.
And we are building toward serving:
- Rights holders who want to create new opportunities around their intellectual and creative assets.
- Organizations that want to communicate knowledge, ideas, and identity in new ways.
What we enable
We will enable people to:
Express themselves freely
Your twin will speak on your behalf; even a story that is hard to tell in your own voice will keep being told.
Bring lost stories to light
Lives that were never written down, never heard, will become audible.
Go from audience to storyteller
Anyone who listens will be able to build their own memory and tell their own story.
Reward the story
What stands out will be the story being told, not how well it is presented.
Meet in common stories
People who have lived through similar things will find each other.
Enrich culture
As different ways of living reach each other, everyone will have more windows onto the world.
An alternative to the copyright problem
In the face of the copyright problems generative AI creates: a memory given with consent at its source, whose origin is known, and a model in which the person whose story is used will be able to share in the value it creates.
Our commitment
We believe technology should expand human expression, not reduce it to engagement metrics.
We are committed to building a media ecosystem that values:
- Perspective over attention.
- Human expression over automated content volume.
- Context over isolated information.
- Participation over passive consumption.
- Discovery over repetition.
- Transparency over opaque systems.
- Creator value over attention alone.
- Experimentation over rigid media conventions.
We are building toward a media ecosystem where technology does not make people less relevant.
It makes more of humanity accessible.
