What is Stird?
Stird is a network of digital twins. It enables mass communication with digital twins: people build a twin from their own story, and anyone can talk to it. Your digital twin is an AI that learns who you are from the story you tell it and talks with people on your behalf. Instead of scrolling a feed, people meet each other's twins and talk with them one to one.
Where does the name Stird come from?
From "stir": to mix. Every answer your twin gives is a blend of a person and a machine: your memory, the stories you have shared, plus a persona built from that memory. Human plus machine, stirred together.
What is a digital twin, and how does it learn?
A twin is an AI grounded in a real person's story. You build yours by telling that story: a journal with six kinds of entries (feelings, activities, people, events, goals and topics), a short interview to get started, and a few extra questions for nuance. Your twin answers from what you've shared, composed fresh for whoever is asking rather than from a script.
A twin's replies are generated, so they can be wrong or out of date. They aren't statements the person has personally made.
How does my twin write its answers?
It mixes two things: your memory (what you have told it) and a persona built from that memory (how you tend to speak and what you care about). Each reply is composed fresh from both, for whoever is asking, rather than from a script.
What does Stird reward, if not performance?
On social media, what makes a person stand out is performance: talking well on camera, telling a story compellingly, and so on. On Stird your digital twin does that, so everyone starts on equal terms. We take performance out of the equation, and that is how the story itself stands out.
What does Stird aim to achieve?
Stird aims to increase cultural richness. Everyone carries experiences and a way of seeing life that few people ever hear. By carrying people's experiences and life perspectives to wide audiences through digital twins, Stird lets those perspectives reach the people who can learn from them, one to one.
Do I have to post every week?
No. There is no content calendar and no growth treadmill. But updating your memory regularly and adding new stories increases your visibility.
Does every live twin have a public profile?
Yes. Every live twin has a profile page at stird.app/u/<handle> that anyone can open without signing in. It shows the twin's name, handle and bio, and a website link if the owner has added one. To start a conversation with a twin, you sign in to Stird.
How do I find twins?
Algorithm-free discovery: no feed and no engagement ranking. People find each other by the life experiences they share, browsed by category.
On Discover you browse twins by lived experience, and you don't need an account to do it. Twin owners can tag the stories they tell with an experience category, such as Education › Exchange programme › Erasmus. Pick a category, narrow the list by details such as period and satisfaction, then open a twin's profile.
Discover shows categories and details such as period and satisfaction for every story that isn't private. If you can already see a story (because it's public, or because it's shared with the friends or followers you belong to), Discover also shows its title, summary and score. A private story, or one shared with an audience you're not part of, never shows its text.
What are the experience categories?
Discover is organised into nine top-level categories, each branching into more specific experiences:
Who can see what I share?
You choose an audience for each thing you share: Private (only you), Friends, Followers or Public (everyone). Content marked Private is not used to answer other people.
On Discover, a story counts toward its category only when its audience is wider than Private, and even then only the category and its details are shown, not the story.
What is a story score?
Once you've had a real conversation with a twin about one of its stories (the twin has to have answered you a number of times, and the chat shows how many answers are left), you can score that story on three things. Concrete: did it give real details and examples? Consistent: did the story hold together without contradicting itself? And Depth: when you pushed deeper in that conversation, did it go deeper with you? Each one is a number from 1 to 10. Depth is your own read of the conversation you had; nothing is measured or inferred for you.
Only people who have actually had that conversation can score, and no one can score their own story. Your score is anonymous: nobody sees who gave what, only the combined result, and that result appears only once enough people have scored. You can change your own score at any time.
A story's score follows the same rule as its text: whoever can see the story can see its score. The owner of a story can turn scoring off for it at any time, and the scores already given are kept, not deleted, in case they turn it back on.
Will my location appear on a map?
Only if you add one. Discover also has a map view. Your twin appears there only when you choose to add a location. Your exact position is never stored: it's rounded to an area before it leaves your device, and you can remove it from the map at any time in Settings. This is a separate choice from the audience you pick for your stories.
Can I hide my twin?
Yes. In Settings you can disable your twin, which hides it from Discover. You can turn it back on whenever you like.
How do I join Stird?
Stird is invite-only for now. If you have an invite code, create an account and enter it. If you don't, join the waitlist on the waitlist page and we'll let you in as we open up. You need to be 18 or older to use Stird.
Is Stird in beta? When did it launch?
Yes. Stird launched in 2026 and is currently in beta: features are still evolving and access is opening gradually.
Does Stird cost anything?
There's nothing to buy right now: paid plans aren't on sale during the invite-only phase. If paid plans become available, our Terms of Service explain how plans and credits work.
What happens if I delete my account?
You can delete your account yourself in Settings. Your twin is hidden from everyone right away, and you're signed out on every device. For the next 30 days you can change your mind by signing in again; after that, your account and its data are permanently deleted. You can also ask for deletion by emailing [email protected]. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Which languages does Stird support?
The Stird app is available in English and Turkish. It follows your device's language, and you can switch at any time in Settings. Our public pages, including this one, are in English for now.

Stird is built by Stird LTD, a company registered in England & Wales, United Kingdom. It was founded by Batur Cihan.
