What you write is yours: the memories, the stories built from them, the messages your twin sends on your behalf. The copyright never transfers to Stird.

This holds no matter who can see it. A private memory and a public one belong to you the same way.

The licence you grant Stird

To run Stird, you grant a licence. It lets us host what you write, store it, process it, and show it to the audience you picked. Under today's Terms, that's what the licence is for: operating the service.

It's also non-exclusive. Granting it doesn't stop you from posting the same memory on your own blog, in a book, or anywhere else you choose.

The limit of sharing

The licence covers what Stird itself can do with what you write. It says nothing about the people you've shared it with. Anyone in the audience you opened a story to can see it, copy it, or repeat it elsewhere. Once it's visible to them, we can't prevent that.

What others can do with what you write

The Terms don't answer a separate question: what a reader can and can't do with a story you've made visible to them, like quoting it or reposting a screenshot. We've drafted a licence for that. It isn't in force yet, and you can read it: Creator Licence draft.

When you delete

Delete a memory or a story and it's removed from Stird.

Delete your whole account and the same thing happens at a larger scale. What you wrote, your avatar, your story visuals, and anything else stored for you come out of Stird's systems, along with your twin itself.

Staying in control

Everything you write stays under your control long after you publish it. Change your mind about an audience. Edit what you wrote. Delete it outright.

Because your twin does the talking, not you directly, the story keeps getting told even where speaking up yourself would feel exposed. That freedom has the same legal limits everywhere else does. See Community rules for what stays off-limits.
